Maggy Ioannou was born in January 1971 in Athens Greece, to a German sculptress mother and a Greek mechanical engineer father. After years of schooling on sketching and painting she studied Graphic Design in the Vakalo Art & Design College in Athens Greece. She began her professional career in advertising in 1991 as a freelance illustrator/visualizer and later on as an Art Director in 1995 working in various advertising agencies in Greece. In 2016 she wrapped it all up in order to focus fully on her art. She has studied ceramics at the ceramic art studio of renowned Greek ceramist Marilena Michopoulou, and sculpting with Altin Patselis. She has attended numerous seminars and workshops in Greece and abroad. She has showcased her work in various group exhibitions.

"I create art that is emotional playfull sometimes surreal, with the human form always an anchor point. I want people to feel when they stand infront of my artwork. Then they let their guard down and the dialogue begins which becomes plausible only when art reaches out through honest sincere emotions."
